    The Executive Chef will be responsible for ensuring an exquisite northern Italian culinary selection for our guests, to include Visconti Ristorante & Bar, banquets, in-room dining, pool bar and grill.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing all culinary functions, departmental revenue and expenses, and ensuring that needs of guests are consistently exceeded.

    • Ensure that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented, according to Leading Hotels of the World standards
    • Collaborate closely with the Outlet Managers, Director of Catering and Banquet Manager for all outlets and special events
    • Assist in the development of an operating budget for the culinary department’s revenue; monitor and take corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are attained
    • Closely monitor and train service standards to ensure all LHW standards are consistently being met
    • Perform regular inspections to ensure that all safety sanitation, energy management, preventative maintenance and other standards are consistently met
    • Assure that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized
    • Manage the long-range staffing needs of the department
    • Ensure that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to including wage and hour and federal, state and/or local laws pertaining to food safety and sanitation
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures culinary departments
    • Create and implement new menus and individual menu items for all outlets
    • Assist on the line and in Banquets to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary department and ensure adherance to the Standard of Appearance
    • Practice and enforce the hotel Core Values and 3 Steps of Service
    • Create menus, including designing corresponding recipes and overseeing the preparation of those recipes
    • Manage kitchen' inventory, place orders, monitor equipment maintenance and condition, and promptly schedule repairs and maintenance as required
    • Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of cooks and other culinary personnel engaged in preparing and cooking foods in hotel including the restaurant, cafeteria, banquets or other food establishments
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a full service or luxury hotel environment
    • A culinary degree preferred, or equivalent education/experience
    • Strong knowledge of Northern Italian food and preparation methods
    • Strong wine knowledge preferred
    • Experience managing schedules, labor costs, and productivity
    • Strong coaching and training abilities, with a zest for high levels of customer service
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as other property and position specific platforms and software
    • Excellent email and telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities
    • Excellent command of English with ability to provide details instructions and timelines
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively lead the team and successfully perform under pressure
    • Available during busy times and as required based on staffing needs and business
