The Restaurant Busser is responsible for setting tables before, during, and after service. The  busser is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and stock of all items needed to prepare for and during service. The Busser will also assist with expediting, delivery fo food in accordance with LHW and Hotel Granduca standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and replenish  food items such as bread and butter for restaurant service
  • Promptly refill guests' bread and butter, beverages and other items as needed
  • Ensure all condiments are replenished on the tables and stocked in preparation of new set up
  • Pour water and beverage for guests in a timely and courteous manner
  • Set bread and butter and other condiments on table for guests
  • Maintain a genuine smile, cordial and friendly demeanor
  • Maintain an adequate supply of china, glass, silverware, napkins, linens for set up and replenishment
  • Break down trays and return soiled dishware and utensils to dishwasher area
  • Maintain cleanliness in the restaurant and service station area
  • Assist Servers with running food from kitchen to restaurant
  • Clean and polish glasses and silverware for table settings
  • Clear tables in between courses and after completion of service

  • Set up tables, replace linens and tableware and ensure restaurant is in impeccable order
  • Clean and vacuum restaurant and work areas to prepare for guests' arrival
  • Complete all required opening and closing side work as assigned
  • Maintain updated knowledge of guest service, wines, and menus in all Food and Beverage areas

  • Complete open and closing side work in a timely manner

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum  high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a server attendant/busser in a full-service or luxury hotel
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to maintan a calm and pleasant demeanor during busy times
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure and busy times
  • Must possess knowledge of food, wines and liquors

  • TABC certificate required

  • Food Handlers' certificate required
  • Ability to work as a team with servers and management
  • Excellent command of English and ability to follow instructions, verbal and written

  • Bilingual - English and Spanish - preferred

  • Must be able to work PM shifts, and other shifts as required including weekends and holidays, based on business demands
